It was Han's lucky day on Sunday. We were outside when our neighbor Paula came over and asked if we wanted a power wheels truck. It was so nice of them to give it to us. In the background is their daughter who is such a wonderful kid and always plays with Hans. She is definently who Hans is going to want to babysit him. He had fun honking the horn and turning the steering wheel. He still needs some help with the pedals.

Hans is a great at helping mommy clean the house. First he was helping by swiffing and then he went in Daddy's star wars room to help us empty it out. Hans is looking at his future play room once Daddy gets over the shock of losing his room. It took us 7 hours to clear out the room. INSANE!!!

It is hard to believe that this is Hans a year ago. At two weeks old Hans was holding his head up. We had many visitors around this time last year all to see the baby. We were told that if you blink their life will go by so we are trying to as little as possible. This year has gone by fast, but we are enjoying every minute of it. We have been blessed with such a wonderful, determined little boy. Also you can see Diane and Andy getting practice for the little on that they didn't know they would be expecting this coming summer/fall.

Sunday was such a beautiful day. We are starting to feel better. We haven't had much time to spend with Christine so Hans and I were finally able to spend the day with her and the of course the girls. It is strange how a little ones change your life. I used to spend almost everyday with them now it is a treat to get to be with them. Hans had such a great day he didn't want to take a nap or go to bed at night. The girls went through the sprinkler at our house and the boys got to play with the water bucket. We also had a bunch of the neighborhood kids come and tryout the new way the landscapers laid out the play set.

Hans and I have been under the weather. Since it was so nice today we decided to go outside. I took Hans and Derek on a wagon ride. Hans loves to stand up in the wagon. He is learning that the wagon doesn't move when he stands up. Melissa swung Hans on the porch swing and he actually stayed still for a few minutes.

Hans First Birthday Party
Hans had such a great time. He enjoyed the cake and being with his friends. Hans just loves being around people, especially kids.

Hans and Christian are such good playmates. They really enjoy each other, and are so kind to each other. They were sharing the stuffed animal, and everyone couldn't believe how cute they are!

We had a great Easter. The day was spent at auntie Kirsten's house. Hans had fun play with the boys, but as you can see so did Mark. Luke and Levi got Pirates of the Caribbean Easter baskets. Mark decided to duel them, but of course he had to have a lightsaber- a sword wasn't enough. Hans once again found a chair to play with. We are going to have to work on him sitting on the chair. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Hans got to spend his 1st birthday with Grandma and Grandpa Barbian, Grandma Judy, Mark and me. He got to open presents eat Lou Malnati's, cake and Russell's. He was in heaven. Those are his favorite places. Hans got some of the cutest outfits from Grandma Cindy. Melissa came by and gave him a happy birthday balloon. This was our first day back in our house after the floors got done. Hans was so happy to be home, especially on his birthday. Hans isn't walking on his own yet, but he is close. I am hoping he starts at the beginning of summer break, although I think it will be much sooner than that.

Hans loved his bithday cake! We celebrated his birthday with great grandma and grandpa a day early. We spent the day at grandma's house. Hans also got a colored hard boiled egg made by Luke and Levi. The picture of hans eating his cake was taken by Luke.

Hans got some licorice that we brought back from one of the first candy shops. Then we spent a few days with Auntie Kirsten while our wood floors were being finished. This picture is celebrating Hans b-day two days early at red robin.

Our last day we spent in Salem where Kim and Erik live. We did the walk in Salem and saw the witch house, part of the underground railroad, court house and got to tour a ship. It is such a great place to live the only thing it is hard to find a good church. Kim and Erik go to church about a half hour away.

On our third day we spent the day in Boston. We took the train in. I walked the Freedom Trail, while Kirsten and Levi went to the aquarium. I got to see Bunker Hill, Paul Revere's house and so much more. For lunch we went to Legal seafood which is rated best in the country. During the day we found the Cheers Bar, an R2D2 mailbox and Levi's 4x great grandfather Samuel Adams grave. Then we got to tour a Navy boat and go on the boat shuttle. Kim works downtown and Erik is near by so we met them at one of Kim's favorite Italian restaurant. Also we got to go to a cool purse shop where Kirsten designed a purse. Kim had an adorable bag, so she wanted to make one too.

Our second day we went to Rockport and Gloucester. The building behind Kirsten and me is well known. This area is known as the site of the Perfect Storm. It was so beautiful. We did some shopping in Rockport. Kim showed us around and where the best shops were at. I found some unique items for Hans big boy room. (It is nautical themed) Erik spent his time entertaining Levi. We went to a restaurant in Rockport- best seafood ever. It would be a dream to live in a place like this. I just wouldn't want to see a hurricane.

Levi at Harvard right after he lost his tooth!

Kirsten, Levi and I at Boston College

Our first day in Boston, we went to BU, Boston College and Harvard. On our outing of course we had to stop at Fenway Park (Home of the Red Sox). Erik attends Boston University and is working on his phD in education. We all got some BU gear. Levi created much excitement at Harvard. He was eating a Popsicle at the Harvard Coop and lost a front tooth. Not many people can say they lost a tooth at Harvard.

Hans spent the day with his cousin's before Hans, Kirsten and I went to Boston. Hans got to spend the days with daddy and Grandma.
